Firefly’s Expert Dance Teachers

Firefly Dance Club has very high expectations of its teachers – so we employ and train only the very best. Knowing dance styles, patterns and techniques are very important but only the beginning. Equally, if not more important, is being able to teach effectively, while understanding your needs and delivering that in a fun and encouraging way – and at a pace that suits you.

Lauren Choukri is our Dance and Operations Director. She trains and monitors the progress of our teachers, develops our curriculum and teaching procedures, so that all our teachers deliver in a consistent manner. Caroline Steer is a gold qualified teacher with extensive international experience. She is a wedding dance specialist but is expert in all our dance styles. Caroline is a beautiful dancer who is also a highly skilled instructor. See Caroline’s Bio.

Ashley McHenry joined Firefly Dance Club as a trainee in 2008 with a background in contemporary dance. His students adore the gentle way he leads them to take their first dance steps and to achieve their dancing goals. When not teaching, Ashley manages much of the reception activities so is often the first person you meet on arrival at Firefly. See Ashley’s Bio.

Amelia Pazderski has a background in Classical Ballet, International Latin & Ballroom & Figure Skating.  She started Social Dancing as a student with Firefly Dance Club while still at High School & demonstrated such a love of dance and interest in teaching that she was invited to train as a Firefly Teacher.

Ingrid Pazderski shares a backround with sister Amelia. Her experience in Classical Ballet, International Latin & Ballroom has given her a strong base from which to develop Social Dancing. Her commitment to providing the best learning experience possible for her students ensures fun and progress in all her lessons & classes.

Serghei Bolgharschii competed successfully in International Latin & Ballroom competitions throughout Europe since the age of 14. He has appeared on Australia’s Dancing with the Stars and has been sharing his love of dance  as a teacher for the past 12 years. He is patient, passionate and dedicated to delivering excellence in dance teaching

Additionally, Ann Jenkins is Managing Director. With a background in education and Corporate Human Resources she brings a unique perspective to the world of social partner dancing.
